Jesse graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in 1971. He met the love of his life Gloria Cordova in a Honkey Tonk bar off Hwy 90. The two married on December 3,1994. Jesse worked in shipping and receiving at Central Freight Lines and Averitt Express for 45 years. After retiring Jesse went back to the workfield where he worked as a nutritionist for Sheldon ISD. He was a member of Los Tres Amigos and Bulls Bunch cooking team. Jesse later opened a catering company specializing in quality brisket called Homestyle Backyard Cookers where he catered for many Quinceaneras, Weddings, and Parties. He had a passion for cooking and he did so with all of his heart. Jesse was a huge sports fanatic. He was often spotted watching his favorite sports on multiple televisions around his home. Jesse had a heart of gold. He was a kind and genuine man. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends. All who came to know Jesse will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents Jesse is preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Arce; sister-in-law, Neomi M. Cerda and Robert Cerda.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 28 years, Gloria Cerda; children, Donovan Cerda, Delena Cerda and Jesse Rangel, Deanna Garza and husband Juan Carlos, Jackie Marie Rivera and husband Luis, Jesse Anthony Cerda and wife Jennifer and Tiffany Lynn; grandchildren, Jonathan Cerda, Gabrielle Nolazco and husband Kevin, Joshua Cerda, Sarra Cerda, Hailey Cerda, Christian Rivera, Grazillia Cerda, Jayden Cerda, Gianna Garza, Noah Garza, Alexis Garza, Elijah Cerda, Julissa Serrano, Julianna Serrano, Allison Vela, Yuli Vela; great grandson, Kayden Nolazco; brother, Joe Cerda, Jr., Elias Gonzalez and wife Velia; nephew, Daniel Cerda and wife Valerie as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation for Jesse will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. with a rosary scheduled to begin at 7:00 PM. at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. A secondary visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM with a funeral service beginning at 2:30 PM. Burial will follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
