Jerry was very devoted to her family. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, watching sports, and talking about her grandchildren and her great grandchildren. Growing up, Jerry worked at the family-owned store, Richey’s Lucky 7 Grocery and Dry Goods, in East Houston. Later in life, her career path led her to the Pasadena Independent School District, where she served many years as a Truant Officer. She retired in her third decade of service supporting children and families throughout the district.
Jerry was very supportive of her two sons while they were growing up by volunteering many hours with their sporting teams, school organizations, and church functions. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church of Pasadena, where she led youth ministries, and later coordinated the Adult Singles Group.
The last few months of her life were spent at Crestview Retirement Community in Bryan, Texas, where she made many new friends and was cared for by a loving staff.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Wilma Flournoy, Jack and Goldie Faulkner, her sisters Beulah Baker and Carolyn McClinton, her brothers Danny and Jack Alan Faulkner and 5 great-grandchildren (Angel Babies).
Jerry leaves behind her brother Gary Flournoy of Kerrville, her sons Howard Meek and his wife Tracy of College Station, Steven Meek and his wife Cathy of Pasadena. Her grandchildren, Kelli Porter and her husband Travis of Lubbock, Kristi Ploch and her husband Adam of San Antonio, Raegan Cink and her husband Hunter of Deer Park and Rylan Meek of Pasadena, and her great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Diana and Norma, as well as many nieces and nephews.
A tribute to Jerry will be held at Forest Park Lawndale on Tuesday, November 1, 2022.
