Jerry was born on September 21, 1940 to Harry and Lucille Feldman and was raised along with his younger sister Judy, in a perfect little house in the East End of Houston that he continued to hold onto for his lifetime.
Jerry attended J.P. Henderson Elementary, Jackson Jr. High, and Stephen F. Austin Sr. High, Class of 1959. He soon enrolled at the University of Houston and would continue to study at his beloved school for many years while working and raising a young family. Jerry also attended the new IBM Computer School, which kickstarted his 50-year career in the computer industry. He made many wonderful, lifelong friends throughout his career at McEvoy Oilfield, Grant Geophysical, F.W. Gartner, and John L. Wortham Insurance, where he retired in 2010.
In November of 1960, he married the love of his life, Sue Dow, at Epworth Methodist Church. They soon started their family and were blessed to raise four children in their always bustling home in Meadowcreek Village, where they made memories for all of 52 years.
Jerry loved his family and supported them in all their sporting activities - whether it was coaching, playing or watching. Jerry especially loved softball - playing on various softball teams over the years with co-workers and friends and umpiring at fields throughout Houston. His family made lots of wonderful memories spending many Friday nights out at Memorial Park watching him play softball with his friends and then going to the local convenience store after the games for l0 cent Coca-Colas. He was a phenomenal pitcher during his Slow Pitch days and a great opposite field hitter.
Jerry loved his Houston Cougars! Jerry and his family attended numerous University of Houston football, basketball and baseball games throughout the years. Many photos of Jerry show him proudly wearing red and displaying the Cougar hand sign. In addition, Jerry loved all Houston sports teams and especially enjoyed watching Astros and Rocket games.
Jerry was affectionately known as "PawPaw" to his 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, enjoyed spending his retirement years cheering and supporting his grandchildren in all of their various endeavors. His grandchildren got a laugh out of hearing him yell out "Yay" when something good happened.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his sister. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sue; daughters Kathy and husband Tony Montalbano, Kristine and husband Vinny Hermes, Karla and husband Tom Sinclair; and son Keith Feldman and wife Brenda.
