He graduated from his beloved Purdue University in 1974 and maintained active participation in the alumni association.
After moving to Houston he became involved in the grocery industry and in 1983 participated in Ownership of Gerland’s Food Fair. Since that time the company has flourished and he has become a valued businessman in the Houston area, belonging to many national groups and associations.
He has been NGA/ FMS entrepreneur of the year and loved his time in the guild of Master Sommeliers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Fleeta Reeder. He is survived by his loving wife Tami; son, Travis; daughter Jordan. He is also survived by Matthew Barry, Chase (Priscilla) Dayton, Alessandra Dayton; granddaughter, Adalina; sister, Donna Grogg (Larry); and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 12, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77079. A Funeral Service will take place at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2012. Private interment will occur following services.
