He is survived by his wife, Terry Cochran Kornfeld, his brother, Scott H. Kornfeld, sister-in-law, Willie L. Cochran, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Sally Hagon, niece and her husband Rachel and Eric Peres, great nephews Michael and A.J. Gámez as well as many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Gladys Kornfeld.
He graduated high school in Saint Joseph, Missouri and moved with his family to Houston in 1971. After working in the jewelry industry for several years he became interested in watch repair. He started his career at Bellaire Watch Repair and then in the early 80’s he opened Mr. K’s. He spent several years in the bank building at Sharpstown then moved to West University and stayed there for over 30 years. It is rare for someone to be able to have a job doing something they love but Jeff was one of the lucky ones. He cared for the watches of many people over the years and became a part of their families. He enjoyed hours of storytelling, jokes, discussions and friendship with the customers whose lives he touched. Outside of work he enjoyed TV, movies, music and model trains. He will be missed. Funeral services will be held Saturday January 28th at 3:00 pm at Brookside Funeral Home-Cypress Creek.
Flowers are welcome, should friends desire, contributions may be sent to The Assistance Fund, HealthWell Foundation or Johnson & Johnson Foundation.
