Jeanette Anthony Cash, age 83, completed her journey on Ash Wednesday, the 1st of March 2017, surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Houston, Jeanette was born to Mary and Anthony Samperi on the 25th of July 1933.
She graduated from San Jacinto High School and attended the University of Houston. Jeanette was a member of the Valeria Club, the Amikitos Club, the Ladies of the Sacred Heart Society, and was also a member of the 50 Something Club. On the 17th of January 1954, she married the love of her life, John Joseph Cash, and was blessed with three children.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sisters, Tena Mancuso and Sarah Pontello. Jeanette is survived by her husband of 63 years, John; two daughters Susan Worrall and husband Jim, Bernadette Josey and husband Brett; son John Lee Cash and wife Katie; grandchildren Valerie Folsom and husband Thomas, Matthew Worrall and wife Lauren, Ryan, Lauren and Holly Josey, John David and Audrey Cash; and great grandchildren Conner and Cecilia Folsom, and Jaxon Salinas.
Jeanette was devoted to the Catholic Church, her family, and her friends. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, traveling, and dining out. She was an example of faith; a loving and caring mom, grandmother and great grandmother, sister, aunt and devoted wife; and a presence that will be missed every day. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Bayou Manor, Belmont Village, Home Instead, and Hospice Compassus, and also The Sisters of Incarnate Word & Blessed Sacrament.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until eight o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 9th of March, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston, where recitation the holy rosary is to commence at seven o’clock.
Mass of Christian Burial is to be offered at half past ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, the 10th of March, at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway in Houston.
The Rite of Committal is to follow, via escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
