Jean Louise West, 87, of Houston, Texas passed away January 15, 2017. She was born in Iola, Kansas on September 5, 1929 to Mr. and Mrs. Perry Stone. She was married to Justin Ray West for 22 years. Jean worked and had a career in the cleaning service industry for various commercial and residential clients. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and had a passion for fashion, decorating, but most of all Jesus Christ, and bringing people to the Lord. Her first husband, Justin Ray West passed away in 1970. They had 4 children together. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Brown and husband Keith, grandson, Justin Brown, daughter, Sandra Thomas, and husband Perry, son, John West, daughter, Joanie Thomas, and husband, Stephen and granddaughter, Tiffany Harper, and husband Jay, and grandson, Tyler Thomas. Jean's life made a difference to all who were blessed enough to know her. Jean was real. She was first and foremost a follower of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. She planted seeds of His word to those she met and those whom He placed on her heart. She won souls for Christ, gently guiding them through the sinners prayer. Jean lived her life as an example of being Christlike. She was sweet, cheerful, and very beautiful. She was considerate, proper and intelligent. Jean was a great lady, loving mother, and dear friend. She taught her children to be kind and thoughtful and brave. Her family is loving, strong, and respectful because they were loved by her.
For Services on Friday, January 20th, the clergy will be Louis Provenzano. The pallbearers for the service will be; Stephen Thomas, Tyler Thomas, Justin Brown, Jay Harper, Jack Macey, Doug Yauger, and Honorary Pallbearers will be; Perry Thomas, Ken Bailey, and Lynn McBride.
