Jean Ann Lovelady, 82, of Onalaska, TX went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 11, 2022. Jean was born in Flint, MI on December 2, 1939 to parents, Marjorie R. (Nettles) Hanson and Floyd E. Hanson, Sr. Jean met and married the love of her life Lennox Lovelady, Jr. on November 8th 1958, together in this union they had four wonderful children.
She will be fondly remembered as a loving mother and a positive and loving supporter to her family. She instilled the importance of God, family, education and hard work. She was a business woman. Before retiring Jean owned several businesses in the past which included Bookkeeping Service, Carpet & Vinyl Shop, Resale Shop, and Jean's Water Depot a bottled water company.
Some of her passions included helping others and learning new things in her day to day work and personal life. She enjoyed spending quality time with her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She loved challenges in building projects and being creative in wood work and sewing. She found joy in giving to others; functions in church, boy and girl scouts, pta meeting in school with her children. All who knew her will miss Jean dearly.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Lennox Lovelady, Jr., parents and brother, Bryan Hanson.
She is survived by her children, Kathryn R. Garza (Robert Garza), Lennox Lovelady III (Karen Lovelady), Carrie L. Miller (Jim Saab) and Tammy L. Elam (Phillip Elam); grandchildren, Larry McGriff, Jr., Jean Binnion, Krystal Gruver, Nicole Strawser, April Korniewicz, Calvin Zugar, Brandi Marshall, Tasha Robbins and Marissa Elam with several great grandchilren and great great grandchildren; brothers, Floyd E. Hanson, Jr., and Kenneth E. Hanson (Bernice Hanson); sister, Beatrice L. Johnson; sister-in-law, Frances Hanson as well as a host of other family and friends also survive.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039. A funeral service is scheduled to follow in the Grand Chapel at Brookside and begin promptly at 11:00 AM. A burial will follow in Brookside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers are Larry McGriff, Jr., Calvin Zugar, Tanner McNutt, Tyler McNutt, Bradley Robbins, Zachery Robbins, Jason Gruver, Jr and Logan Eagle.
