JD Feagins was introduced to this world on October 4, 2015 in Dallas, Texas by Mary Craver-Feagins and Tommie Feagins (both parents preceded in death). Attending Pinkston High School, Dallas was his home until 1962 when he and his family transitioned to Houston, Texas. Houston, then being considered home, he attended Kashmere High. He held various jobs, primarily janitorial and light carpentry; however, he worked his absolute best and carried a smile in any environment, winning over many. An exquisite man, he gained the attraction of both men and women in the workplace and beyond. Possessing such a loving, caring personality there was no place he entered where a long lasting friendship was not acquired. On any given day you could hear him singing Johhny Taylor, Al Green, Randy Travis and a variety of other genres of music. Music was in his heart, and the sound often flowed as he walked around the house or as he worked. Although he may not have vocalized his emotions often they were shown through his actions. The doors of his home and his hands were always open to those in need. Slumber did not descend upon him until he knew loved ones were secure from harm. JD was our " earthly safe haven". His phone continuously rang from those he encountered, just another show of the amount of love exuded towards him and from him. Stylish and charming he attained the attention of Linda White, Evelyn Fields (preceded in death), Linda Joyce Herron and Gloria Feagins fathering 9 children collectively. He committed himself to Linda Joyce Herron (preceded in death) in 1979. After that marriage ceased, sometime later his union began with Gloria Feagins for over 30 years until her passing. Each journey of life is different and the roads traveled may vary, but to have been a part of JD's life, we had to have traveled alongside him on one of those roads or met at an intersection. In either case, the journey was purposed and meaningful. He fought the good fight of life and pain, until the Lord called his name and said, "You shall fight no longer" He leaves to mourn 1 sister and 5 brothers: Ethel Lee Feagins, Tommie Lee Feagins, Lonnie B. Feagins, Lewis Feagins, James Earl Feagins, W.L. Feagins, and 1 brother preceded him in death, Thomas Earl Feagins; 9 children: Juan Bell, Darren Fields, Andre Fields, Gloria Fields, JD Herron, Johnnie Feagins, Mary Feagins, Tommie Feagins, Shawn McCue; 6 step-children, and a grave number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
