J.C. was an alumnus of University of Texas, Austin, where he earned a BS in Chemical Engineering.
Following retirement, he went on to attend the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Austin earning a Masters in Theology.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Houston, AICHE, Houston Engineering Society, and Texas Exes.
He is survived by his wife, Jane “Harvi;" son Mark and his wife Regina; granddaughter Ginger and her husband Rick; and great-grandson Ricky; daughter Jamie Gartner and her husband Todd; grandchildren Jacob and Jacey. He is predeceased by his son, Collin Gray Gresham.
The family wishes to acknowledge and express great thanks to the team at VITAS Hospice in Shenandoah.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from two until four o'clock in the afternoon on Sunday, the 6th of December, in the Jasek Chapel of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.
A funeral service is to be conducted at half-past nine o'clock in the morning on Monday, the 7th of December, also in the Jasek Chapel.
Interment is to follow, via escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street in Houston.
