Javier Peña, Sr

Javier was born in a South Texas border town to Jose Maria Peña and Maria del Refugio Montes. He moved to Houston in 1972 with his wife and high school sweetheart, Alma. Shortly after, he started working for General Electric as a Fabricator where he retired in the 2000's. After retirement, he enjoyed supporting his grandkids at their activities and playing cards with friends on the weekends. Javier loved his H-town sports teams including the Oilers, Astros, Rockets and the Texans.

In addition to his wife, Alma, Javier is survived by his son Javier Peña Jr and wife Angie Peña, son Jaime Peña and wife Tania Peña and daughter Jennifer Peña. Along with his beloved grandchildren Jonathan, Brayden, Analisa, Brianna, Joshua, Delilah, Hendrex, Nathaniel, and Christopher. As well as siblings Alicia Ramirez, Abel Peña, Raquel Chapa and Susie Benavides.

He was predeceased by his father-Jose Maria Peña, mother-Maria del Refugio Montes, sister-Martha Cuellar and brother-Jose Maria Peña Jr.

A visitation for Javier will be held Monday, June 20, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas. A vigil will follow from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will occur Tuesday, June 21, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, Texas.
