Janie Lewis

Sheila Jane Lewis of New Caney, Texas passed away on January 21, 2021. She was born in Jasper, Texas on November 6, 1948. She was first and foremost a wonderful mother and homemaker. In her later years, she worked as a manager in a dry cleaning business. Sheila was affiliated with the Church of Christ and attended services, as her health would allow.

She loved her family and friends and she loved to collect roosters. She loved to vacation in Branson, Missouri. She loved to listen to gospel music. If you knew Janie, you also knew that she could shop till she dropped. She loved to visit yard sales and thrift stores or anywhere she could find a bargain. She loved to connect with friends and family on Facebook.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Jesse & Pauline Duckworth; sister: Patricia Gail Wood; uncle: Leo Wood; great grandson: Max Maddoux, great granddaughter: LouKacee Maddoux.

Janie is survived by her four sons: Ronnie Maddoux, Roy Maddoux & wife Kelley, Steven Maddoux & wife Sherry, Samuel Lewis & significant other Brandi. Janie loved all of her grandchildren. She leaves 15 grandkids: Jesse Maddoux & wife Bonnie, Mark Maddoux, Stevie Maddoux, Derek Maddoux & wife Sarah, Marshal Maddoux, Chelsey Bowlin & husband Matt, Miranda Maddoux, Dylan Lewis, Damon Lewis, Sydney Lewis, Jessica Bass & husband Mike, Kendra Mejia & husband Andrew, Ronnie Scott, Sarah Deshays, and Savannah Deshays. Janie was blessed with 13 great grandchildren: Mallory Bowlin, Camryn Bowlin, Bo Maddoux, Granger Maddoux, Maddison Maddoux, James Scott, Gabriella Mejia, Chloe Mejia, Hailey Bass, Makayla Bass, Connor Bass, Hope Bass, and Asher Garner. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 5pm to 8pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Graveside service will take place on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 10:30am in Brookside Memorial Park.
