Janie Lopez Hernandez

On Wednesday, August 2, 2017, our beloved Mother Janie Lopez Hernandez of Houston Texas passed away and entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a courageous fight with cancer. Born in Harlingen Texas, She married young and her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her through her illness and gave her peace.

She is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Celia Lopez, her brothers Cesar and Pete Lopez, and her sister Alice Mejia.

Her great love was her family, Janie is survived by her only Son Michael Hernandez and Grandchildren Johnny, Mehgan, Matthew, Jenny and Marc and Chelsey Hernandez. She is also survived by her ex-husband Arthur Hernandez, whom she met in 1964 and stayed friends with until the very end.

Janie was blessed with a large and loving family and numerous friends that loved her very much. Our family would like to express our gratitude to Ruben for being by her side as she battled her illness.

Janie had a passion for animals which she gave her love to as well and affectionately named “Snow White.” Janie enjoyed sitting in her backyard, and love to see the birds fly and the squirrels running around. She adopted stray animals which brought her joy to her heart as she feed and nurtured them.

Viewing will be held on Monday, August 7th at 5 pm., at Crespo Funeral Home 4136 Broadway St. Houston, Texas 77087, Rosary to follow begins at 7 pm

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Blessed Sacrament Church 4015 Sherman St Houston Texas 77003.
