Janie Garcia

Janie Sanchez Garcia was born on March 4, 1918. She went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2016 at the age of 98. She is survived by her loving husband, Henry Garcia, of 68 years. She is also survived by her daughters, Mary Nieto, Magdalena (Maggie) Jimenez, and Lupe Goudeau. She is preceded in death by a son, Johnny Galaviz. She was a grandmother to 14 grandchildren, great-grandmother to 32 great grandchildren, and a great, great grandmother to 6 great, great grandchildren. She is also survived by her 2 brothers, Armando Sanchez and Albert Rodriguez and her sister, Gloria G. Hinojo. She is also preceded in death by her other siblings, sister, Rosa Sanchez Posada and brothers, Gilbert Sanchez and Joe and Alfredo Rodriguez. Two of her favorite things to do were working out by taking long walks at Mason Park and dancing with her husband. She was truly loved by her family and she will be deeply missed. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13 from 5-9pm. Rosary will be from 7-8pm. Funeral service wil be Thursday, July 14 at 11am with graveside service to follow at Forest Park Cemetery on Lawndale St.
