Janice Geraldine McNeely Copeland

Janice G. Copeland, 69, journeyed to heaven November 4, 2011 with her family by her side in Houston, Texas. A memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday at Pat H. Foley Funeral Directors, 1200 W. 34th Street, Houston TX 77018.

Born October 7, 1942, in Houston, Texas to Allen and Minnie McNeely, Janice attended both San Jacinto High School and Vocational Technical High School where through a mutual friend she met her future husband Robert after needing a ride to school. Following that fateful day they began dating and married in October 1960. Shortly after the wedding she travelled with her husband to Pearl Harbor Naval Station in Hawaii where they lived for approximately one year. After their time there, they returned to Texas where they lived in Corpus Christi and then back to Houston; she joined a bowling team and eventually purchased a home in Oak Forest where she gave birth to her son and lived out her life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Copeland is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert Copeland; her brother, Herman McNeely and his wife Dee; her son, Troy Copeland and his wife Monica; her four grandchildren, Amber & Taylor Copeland and Sara and Jenna King.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Allen and Minnie McNeely and her sister, Nina K Wilburn.
