Jane Woodward passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2020. Mrs. Woodward was a longtime resident of Houston, Texas. She was born on 8/2/1922 to James and Charlotte Krowl in New Haven, CT. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Charles Don Woodward and her parents.
Jane, or "Gigi" as she was affectionately called, was a devoted Christian, lifetime volunteer in the community, mother, grandmother, great grandmother who gave of herself unselfishly. She had a sweet and kind manner, and she never had an unkind word to say about anyone. Jane had a passion for life.
Jane is survived by son Gary R. Woodward (wife-Janet), daughter Jan S. Woodward, and son Dan S. Woodward (wife-Cathey). Grandchildren: Shaun Woodward, Jason Woodward (wife-Samantha), Blake Woodward, Patrick Woodward, and Charlotte Heinz (husband-Josh). Great grandchildren: Serenity Woodward, Hadlee Heinz, Jason Bradley Woodward, Liam Woodward, and Sawyer J. Y. Heinz.
Private graveside service will be at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home and Cemetery on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Address is 12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77077. A celebration of life will be held at Grace United Church of Christ on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 2:45 p.m. Address is 8515 Brookwulf Drive, Houston, Texas 77072.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Grace United Church of Christ or the World War II Museum, 945 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 (memory of her husband, Charles Don Woodward) which was Jane’s favorite charity.
