He was born in Houston, Texas on August 15, 1942, to Selman Earl and Geneva Mae Wilson. Cliff graduated from Jones High School in 1960. He joined the United State Marine Corps in 1962 and proudly served our country in artillery with the 1st Marine Division until 1966. Cliff was a Texas State Trooper and founded & led several businesses in the residential and commercial gutter industry for more than fifty years.
Cliff was born again when he committed his life to Christ on Sunday, August 28, 2022, and was baptized on Friday, September 2, 2022, with all his family present as witnesses.
His theme song could have been “On the Road Again” as he always loved being on the go and traveling. He and Kay traveled thousands of miles attending every special event or milestone of their beloved grandchildren. Cliff was so proud to be a Marine and celebrated the Marine Corps birthday every year with his family and brothers in arms, often attending reunions in Hawthorne, Nevada. He was a true family man that looked forward to every holiday gathering, special event, and lighting the firepit for the first cold front of the fall season where we all gathered often.
Cliff is survived by his loving wife of twenty-one years, Carolyn Kay Wilson. He lives on through his daughter Ann Michelle Wilson and husband, Kenny; son Thomas E. Wilson and wife, Danielle; daughter Jennifer Suzanne Wilson and fiancée, Jeff; and stepson Chris Lunneen.
He loved being called Pappaw and was blessed to have eight grandchildren and one special great granddaughter. Kurstyn Edens, Dariane & Bo McGraw, Madison & Zach Klebieko, Cade Edens, Sadie & Charlie Goss, James Kirkley, Lillie Wilson, Presley Wilson, and Harlan Rose McGraw.
He was preceded in death by father Selman Earl Wilson, mother Geneva Mae Wilson, brother Sunny, sister Wanda, sister Loretta, brother Larry, and children’s mother Rita O’Neal Wilson.
