James Terry Williams was born October 07, 1950 in Ruston, Louisiana to the union of J. C. and Annie Cooper Williams. He was the youngest son of five (5) children. J.T., as he was affectionately known, departed this life on September 09, 2018 at his home in Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son (Terrance Williams). James accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He was educated in the Lincoln Parish School System where he played baseball and was a graduate in the Class of 1968. He was academically outstanding as a Grambling College student and later moved to Houston, Texas. James was an active member of the Fountain of Praise where he worshipped weekly with his wife and honored God with his life and service to others. James retired from Anderson Greenwood after thirty-five (35) years of service. In retirement, he became a real golf enthusiast. He was proud to announce his three times/week golf schedule, his daily dinner dates with his horse Apache and his every weekend schedule at their beach home with his wife Brenda, where they welcomed family and friends. T. loved to have a good time and he and his wife traveled the world doing just that. We are certain that the Tom Joyner Cruise will forever be short changed because of his absence. He leaves an abundance of memories that will be cherished by: his lovely wife Brenda, two beautiful daughters – Chenire Craig and Stacey Williams, two grandchildren – Floyd “Q” Craig, IV and Eleanor Williams, three sisters – Rev. Bettye Phifer, Nettye May and Shelia Foley, one brother Benjamin Williams (Johnnie-Faye), two brothers-in-law - Leo Bowers, Jr. and Rickey Bowers (Jimmie) and a host of other relatives and friends. His memory will linger with many of his nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends. His family and friends will forever remember his special gift of generosity and kindness.
We were sad to learn of JT's passing. He attended Grambling Junior High, where he was a member of the GHS 1968 Class. He transferred to Lincoln High School. After high school graduation, he connected with some of us at GSU. To his family, know you are in our prayers.
Brenda, May The God of Comfort and Peace provide fot you, the family and friends, His strength during this season of your lives. May The Holy Spirit remind you that you are not alone. May His Presence be manifested daily to you. Please know that He loves and cares for each of you. Because J. T. accepted JESUS as His Lord and Savior, you have the blessed assurance of knowing He is Resting In Paradise. Praise God !!! God promised, you will see him again. Amen. May The love of God be yours.
Our prayers are with the family and friends during these difficult times. All of us have many fond memories of JT that we will forever hold dear to our hearts. It seems just like yesterday that we all were walking around Grambling's Campus. We will forever cherish those days. Much, much love to the family! Dave & Gean Lynette Davis Beasley Douglasville, Georgia Grambling State University, 1971
May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
James was a good friend, He always greeted everyone with a smile. We all enjoyed his companionship. He will be missed, but no forgotten.
So sorry to hear about James passing. He was our neighbor and friend for 20 years at the beach. Always full of energy and fun. He will be greatly missed. Keeping his wife and family in our prayers
We enjoyed hours on the golf carts at the beach, even with an occasional breakdown. I loved James' company and will miss talking with him under the beach house.
JT will always be remembered for his humility, kindness, and generosity. As one of his golf friends, we will miss him dearly. His friendship and competitive spirit made the time we spent with him most enjoyable and rewarding. Rest-in-peace dear brother, and all love and condolences to his family.
Sincere Sympathy
May God Bless JT and my sympathy goes out to his family
As a former employee of Anderson, Greenwood & Co. from 1979 to 1992, I interacted with J. T. on several occasions. He struck me as a man of substance and strength. It was therefore with deep shock and sorry that I received the news of his untimely death. We have lost a truly great man and we share in your sorrow and pain. We will hold your family in our prayers.
I joined Anderson Greenwood in 1996 and worked closely with J.T. all the way up to his retirement. He was a good man, a good friend and co-worker with a heart of gold. The world is definitely a smaller place without his presence. My heart felt condolences go out to his wife and family during this difficult time.
May God Bless and comfort your family during this time. JT was my Supervisor when I first started working at Anderson Greenwood back in 1999. He was always polite and a professional individual whom I loved working with and for.
Thank you for being a great mentor and coworker.
May the God of all comfort continue to comfort and bless you during this time of sorrow and grief. Please read what the Bible says at Matthew 5:4.
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
May the bereaved family be comforted by looking forward to Jesus' promise recorded at John 6:40.
My condolences. may the God of all comfort help your family to endure during this time of grief. PSALMS 94:19.
Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. Remembering you and your dad today and always.
