He was born on June 27, 1940 to William Jones Walker and Mary Etta Brady in Beaumont, Texas. After he graduated from French High School in 1958, he enlisted in the US Army in July 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1961 and remained in reserve until 1964.
He married the love of his life and his forever bride, Jennifer Rita Wenner, on May 31, 1963, and went on to have four children, James Robert Walker, Jr., Jennifer Robyn Walker, Jay Ronald Walker, and Tammy Marie Walker.
He dedicated most of his adult life to serving Christ and travelling the world preaching the gospel to different churches and feeding the children. The Lord called him to Costa Rica 23 years ago to do His Work and He blessed his time there and has sent others to help their ministry carry on His work there.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother, William Jones Walker, Jr., and sister, Mary Ann Walker Ferrell. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, Dusty Randolph Wright, Marshall Adam Walker, Rachel Miranda Walker, Jason David Hughes, Jr., Michael John Massarella, Jay Cash Walker, Shane Lee Walker, and great grandchildren.
Friends are invited to a visitation with the family on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 10:30 am at The Prayer Room Church, 1111 League Line Road, #152, Conroe, Texas 77303, with a Celebration of life service will be held, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 11:30 am with the reception immediately following at the Church. Graveside burial service will be held at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038, same day at 2:15 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ministry of Hope International.
