It’s heartbreaking to hear of your passing. While I don’t know the details, I just want to say you have left an impact on my life. I pray you find your peace. Rest easy ❤️

I have truly lost a brother the day I found out. To many good times with from staying up tell 6am to play NBA jam and getting in trouble with sue, to jamming out on some amazing music. Influence, soul, and joy will be with everyone you touched.  I send all my love to the family. James will never be forgotten. 

Although the family and friends are tragically devastated by the unexpected passing of James, I know that he is now enjoying Heaven and its eternal bliss that is immersed in God's pure and unconditional love. And surely James will be forming and organizing -- if not already --  a celestial band and creating new music to add joy for multitudes in his new abode that is a place of harmonious sounds and lyrics. If I could communicate with you, James, I would say: May you eternally ROCK ON. And forever hold closely in your heart that you were always a delight to your precious parents, who will always cherish you. And you are also loved and welcomed by God's AMAZING GRACE -- from the beginning into eternity. And there are multitudes of folks, James,  you will meet in the PERFECT PLACE OF PEACE. One is my Aunt Ginny, your grandmother, who will be so delighted to embrace you. And of course, your grandfather, my Uncle Jim. There are so many other family members -- great grandmothers,  aunts, uncles, and cousins from both sides of the family, as well as many others -- even great musicians --  to greet and to eagerly meet you, helping you as you enter into infinite beauty and harmony of sights and sounds, even the beautiful singing of angels. And all this is  reserved for you to enjoy in Heaven. James, you will be sorely missed by heartbroken loved ones, not understanding your early demise. As for me, I will try to remember that you are delighting in your new residence with your Heavenly Father. And I am confident that THE BEAT GOES ON where you are -- forever. Abounding grace, Pat

Our Condolences to the Vehslage Family, you are in our prayers. 

I only knew James for a short time, we connected when our mutual friend passed, and I promised to remain close to him. 
We did keep in touch, but this is a devastating blow- 
He was a great human and my sincere condolences go out to his family. 
He will be greatly missed- 


I remember James as the little boy standing with the family at Aunt Ruth's house during one of the many trips "up north".  When I saw the tribute to him I realized that he packed a lot of living into his 34 years . I wish I had known him better.   I love the fact that he loved music so much for so long. That he was funny and caring.  All of that and so much more is what we all can celebrate for James.


Thanks for lending us your skills and passion, even for a short time. And for helping others to find their own. I’ll always be grateful we met. You will be missed.

James was a close friend with my son Major.  He was there when Major needed help moving out of state. I will miss seeing him and I will pray for his soul often.
