AT was born on December 31, 1958, to Ames Anthony Theriot and Billye Rose Davis in Freeport, Texas. AT attended Brazosport High School then enlisted in the Army shortly after. He was honorably discharged and upon returning home to Freeport, worked offshore. A new career path took him to Houston where he met and married his best friend and love of his life, Jennifer Kay on December 19, 1986.
AT loved his family. When he wasn’t working, he was coaching baseball, going to his grandchildren’s soccer and baseball games, taking care of the lawn and his plants, enjoying evenings on the patio with Jennifer, grilling, cooking gumbo for family gatherings, visiting family and friends, and spending time traveling along the Texas Coast.
He is preceded in death by his father Ames Anthony Theriot; paternal grandparents Lester Theriot and Mabel Doré; maternal grandparents Gaily Davis and Lucille Wiley.
AT is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jennifer Kay Theriot; his mother Billye Rose Chafin and her husband Richard Chafin; children Ben Theriot and his wife Andra Theriot, Lauren Geary and her husband Kyle Geary, and Dale Fitzpatrick and his wife Julie Fitzpatrick; his six grandchildren Audrey and Jack Theriot, Karl and Pearse Geary, and Molly and Connor Fitzpatrick; sister Leslie McMahan and her husband Barry McMahan; his nephew Ethan McMahan and his wife Savannah McMahan and their daughter Addison McMahan; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 19, 2021, at The Swinging Door in Richmond, Texas. 3818 Farm to Market 359, Richmond, Texas 77406.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made in AT’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project.
