Jim was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish and golf. He was known as a wonderful friend, boss and family man. He served honorably in the United States Navy and did one tour in Vietnam. He was a graduate of University of Houston and started his career immediately after high school with UT/JCT where he eventually retired as a regional terminal manager. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason belonging to C.A. Fortner Lodge No. 1304. Jim touched many lives and will be missed by all those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, George William, mother Pauline and brother John Swain. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Norma Swain; his daughter Stephanie and granddaughter, Taylor Cupit of Houston, TX; his daughter, Elizabeth and grandson Cody Mathis of Virginia. He is also survived by his cousins, nieces, nephews, many family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his name to the C.O.P.D. Foundation.
