He had a career as a truck driver for PTC, Ada Resources, Inc and later Sun Coast Resources, Inc. JR was ever hopeful and regularly tried to beat the odds at his favorite casino with his wife Margaret. He enjoyed playing dominoes and trying his hand at winning the lottery. JR had a special fondness for classic cowboy movies, and loved to watch basketball and football games on the television and listen to old time soul music. He was the king of the grill and knew just how to make the perfect spare ribs for his family, but in his old age he became lazy.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Margaret Anne Burgan; children, Gene, Lyonne, Anthony, Stefanie, and Kevin; siblings Stephen and Judy; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. JR was preceded in death by his parents Emma Jane and James Richardson, Sr.; siblings Clyde, Ernest, and Georgia Mae.
