James “Bubby” Orrick, 78, of Houston went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 16, 2013. He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church and for many years owned Orrick Machine Works. Mr. Orrick was preceded in death by parents, James and Willie Bell Orrick, his son, James “Jimmy” Orrick, Jr., his sisters, Frankie Freeman and Ola Lowery and brother-in-law Gene Holland. He was survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Orrick, his sister, Dorothy Joanna “Babe” Holland, his brother in law, Robert Freeman, daughters, Jan Hilley and husband, Tony ; Jackie Lavastida Clark and husband, Otis; and Julie Yanello and husband, Jerry; his sons, James Kaiser and wife, Ophelia, Dennis Kaiser and wife, Peggy, and son Gerald Kaiser; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation is from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at Brookside Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013, with Reverend Russell Strimple officiating. Interment to follow.
