James was born in Houston on December, 18, 1949 to parents Elwood and Mary (Card) Lawler. They preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was his brother Robert Lawler and his brother in law Neil Ferguson.
On April 13, 1996 Jimmy married Allie Hext in Kingwood TX, Allie survives. Also surviving are his sons Shaun James, wife Carolina, Clif Anderson, wife Brettney and Chris Anderson, wife Jessica, sister Janie Ferguson, sister-in-law Carolyn Lawler, several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews..
Jimmy graduated from Reagan High School and went on to serve in the United States Army from 1970-1972, he was stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged from the Army, Jimmy went on to become a Journeyman Electrician.
Jimmy had a great sense of humor, he enjoyed traveling and hunting but above all he loved his family and spending time with them. He will be missed.
He loved the Lord and was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Jimmy will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home, 12800 Westheimer Rd, Houston TX, 77077. Pastor Richard Walters will officiate. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery following the funeral.
