James Ewing King of Houston Texas peacefully passed away on July 14th at his home in which he has lived in since 1941. Jim was born on May 17, 1929 in Hutchinson Kansas before moving to Houston in 1938.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C. E. King and Juanita Bradford King and his older brother Robert V. King. Jim is survived by his brother, W. K. "Buck" King, his loving wife of 56 years Carmen Munoz King, his three children; Juanita King, Ewing King, Gerald King, his six grandchildren; Cort King, James King, McCay Dickson, Leslie King, Carmen Satori and Francisca Satori.
Jim followed in the footsteps of his father C. E. King and was a home builder. He attended Rice University and was rarely seen without a smile on his face. Jim never met a stranger. Jim had a great passion for Mexico where he visited often to collect Orchidaceous (Orchids) You’d always find him at the bullfights but NEVER in the bleachers but rather in the callejón in the middle of the action as a picador on foot. He was dynamic, kind, caring, loving and full of life and will be missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday July 21st at 3:30 PM at Palmer Episcopal Church located at 6221 Main Street in Houston Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you contribute to the Alzheimer's Association Houston & Southeast Texas Chapter.
