Jimmy Hyde passed away peacefully in the early hours of April 1, 2016 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his parents William Henry Hyde and Gladys Flowers Hyde, and three children, Barbara Dunlavy, James “Bubba” Hyde, and Lisa Hyde. He is survived by his wife, Marcella Grams of Houston, Texas, and three children, Cheryl Hyde of Mountainburg, Arkansas, Mary Foley and husband Andrew of Columbus, Ohio, and Edward “Dino” Hyde and wife Glenda of Freeport, Texas. Jimmy leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jimmy was born on July 13, 1927 in Lansing, Michigan. He moved to Texas as a teenager and spent most of his adult life in Houston, Texas. He bravely served in the Army during WWII. After retiring from Overhead Door Company, he opened his own business, Hyde’s Garage Door Service. In the early 1990’s, he moved to Mountainburg, Arkansas to enjoy life in the mountains. He returned to Houston, Texas in 2005. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, working on challenging puzzles and eating a bowl of chocolate ice cream. Jimmy courageously battled heart and lung disease. A visitation will be held at Heights Funeral Home located at 1317 Heights Blvd., Houston, Texas 77008 on Monday, April 4, 2016, from 5-7pm with a Rosary beginning at 7pm.
