Jim was born on September 27, 1946, in St. Louis, Missouri, was a long-time resident of Houston, Texas and graduated from St. Louis Preparatory High School in 1964 and St. Louis University in 1968. He served our country in the United States Army and served in the reserves.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents - Lester Hauri and Rosemary Malecek Hauri; brother – Gerald Hauri; stepdaughter – Yvonne Echols of San Jacinto, CA. He leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years - Pamela Hauri of Houston, TX; daughter – Jennifer Hauri Cardillo and son-in-law – Robert Cardillo of Houston, TX; son – James Hauri, Jr., and daughter-in-law – Soo Hwang of Marlborough, MA; son-in-law Jesse Gomez of San Jacinto, CA; grandchildren – Morgan Stanley of Doha, Qatar; Molly, Finn and Jasper (Flash) Hauri of Marlborough, MA; Kimberlyn Echols of Houston, TX; Madelyn Chong of Sacramento, CA.
Jim was a son, husband, brother, cousin, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. Jim was loving, loyal, honest, hardworking, ethical, generous, intelligent, kind, caring, meticulous, passionate, courageous, and hilarious. All-in-all, Jim was a larger-than-life character.
Jim had a great love for this family and friends. He had a passion for fishing, collecting guns, watching sports, following politics, cooking (BBQ and steaks), hosting gatherings with Pam and just basically hanging out with friends and family.
A Celebration of Jim's life will take place at La Hacienda Restaurant on Saturday, February 11, at 2:00 pm, 14759 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079.
