James Victor Garcia Jr.

Jimmy(Tops) was born June 18, 1940 in Houston, Texas and graduated from Reagan High School, class of 1958. He attended Sam Houston State and later returned to Houston to begin what turned into a 40 year career with Mandel Kahn. After his first retirement, Jimmy couldn't stay away from his passion for sales and marketing, so he went back to call on his old friends and customers, working for Jack's and finally with BSP where he retired a second time in 2010.

Tops always found time to pursue many of his hobbies such as golf, hunting and fishing. His love for the outdoors led him to purchase a small piece of land in La Grange where he would invite family and friends for weekend outings and holiday celebrations.

What gave Jimmy his greatest satisfaction was his time spent with family and the many traditions that he was able to carry on, passed down from his Mother and Father. Nothing made him happier than his family around him.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James V. Garcia Sr. and Juliette. He is survived by his partner Lynda Milner, his brothers Tom and wife Cindy, Tim and his wife Bernie, sister Judy and husband David, his four sons James Robert, Donnie and wife Amy, Gary and his wife Pam, Steven and his wife Cody. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren Jamie, David, Emily, Matthew, Ryan, Nathan, Dylan, Alexa and her husband Curtis, and two great grandchildren, Charles and Zoey.

A visitation for James will be held Sunday, September 15, 2019 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 16, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079. A committal service will occur Monday, September 16, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079.
