James Darrell Douglas went to his heavenly home on October 8, 2016. Jim was born on September 27, 1953, in Houston, TX, and enjoyed his life in Texas as a proud Aggie (Class of 1976), husband, father, friend, volunteer and business owner. As president of the board and a member of the building committee, he played an integral part in establishing the high school division of CCCS, purchasing the land where the K-12 campus is located today and designing the Secondary B building and Multi-Use Facility which have both served thousands of students over the years.
Also, Jim served for twelve years as a volunteer in the Civil Air Patrol (CAP), an auxiliary of the US Air Force, and was dedicated to its Cadet Program. He rose to the rank of Major and served as commander of CAP’s Sugar Land Composite Squadron from June 2013 through April 2016. During his years of service, Jim earned many awards and decorations including the prestigious CAP Texas Wing Commander’s Commendation Award.
