Jim graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1962 with a basketball scholarship and went on to graduate from The University of St. Thomas. He took his responsibility as the oldest son and second of seven children very seriously. He was a devoted father and proud grandfather. Jim was protective of his family and having lived in Houston for 53 years, cherished his many friendships for life. He spoke very highly of Dunn Heat Exchangers and how grateful he was to everyone there for all their kindness and support during his illness. His passions were family, friends and golf.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents James F. and Winifred A. Delaney. He is survived by his son James F. Delaney, III and Wife Jamie and grandson Justin, brothers and sisters Mary Mendoza, Brian Delaney, John Delaney and wife Barbara, Joanne Delaney, Candace Jackson and husband Barry, Patrick Delaney and wife Kari, and many nieces and nephews.
His family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Compassion Senior Care, LLC and Compassionate Care Hospice for their support.
A Funeral Mass will be held at ten thirty AM, on Tuesday, November 29, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 625 Nottingham Oaks Trail, Houston, Texas 77079.
Immediately following the service, all are invited to join the family for a reception.
