James Marc Bullock, 71, of Houston Texas, passed away on April 1, 2023 in Sugar Land Texas.
Jim was born in Williamsport Pennsylvania to Lewis & Doris (Beckett) on December 19, 1951. He graduated from Montoursville High School, where he excelled in athletics. During his senior year he was “District-Four Champ, the most outstanding wrestler in the tournament, and the only Montour wrestler to attend regional finals for two consecutive years”. He played offensive and defensive line for the football team his entire time at MHS. He then attended Columbia University after earning a scholarship for football and wrestling and enjoyed the camaraderie of his fraternity brothers, even years after leaving the university. He then moved to Houston in 1980. Jim was the husband to Gale (Lyons) with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. He was a highly accomplished sales person in the automobile industry for over 45 years and won numerous awards in sales and customer service. Jim was a student of theology and enjoyed attending services with his family.
Jim always felt his greatest accomplishment was being a father to his 4 children, and has been described as “the mighty protector of women and children”.
Jim, we will always love and miss you until we meet again.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Dennis John.
Jim is survived by his wife, his daughter Sarah (Roy), his son Matthew (Krystle), his son Andrew (Mindy), all from Houston TX, and his step son Scott of Denver CO. His brothers Peter (Lynn) of Perkasie, PA and Lawrence (Des) of Troy, MI. His 5 grandchildren Lucas Gabriel, Bennett John, Madison Paige, Georgia Kimberly, and Travis James, and numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Services will be held at Garden Oaks Funeral Home 13430 Bellaire Blvd. Houston TX 77083 on Saturday, April 15th at 3pm. All friends and family are welcome. There will be a reception after the service at the family’s home.
