James “Jim” Michael Booth, age 68, passed away on Friday, May 4, 2018, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas. He was born on August 29, 1949, in Beaumont, to John Carroll and Kathleen Booth. He was a graduate of Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas, and a Master of Accountancy from the University of Houston. He worked as the Vice President of Finance for the University of St. Thomas, where he was responsible for all phases of finance and administration. Jim served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant. Additionally, he served on multiple religious organizations including the San Jose Clinic, the Institute of Spirituality and Health, and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. He was a man of extraordinary character and integrity that shaped his life around his religion, family, and friends. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Emilie Booth; daughter, Danielle; son, Connor; and granddaughters, Charlotte and Olivia. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, May 9th with a Rosary being recited at 7 PM in the Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Fwy., Houston, TX 77024. Family, friends, and others whose lives Jim touched are invited to St. Anne’s Catholic Church at 2140 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77098 at 1 PM on May 10th with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in memorial of Jim.
