James Banks Jr., 79, passed away January 29, 2016 after his battle with lung and multiple myleoma cancer for 16 months. He was determined to create memories with his family and friends as long as he could. He did just that by continuously defying all odds against him during the last year of his illness. James was born August 18, 1936 to James and Ollie Banks Sr. in Millican, Texas. He was self-employed adventurously enjoying his landscaping business, until his health no longer permitted him to do so. He was preceded in death by: his parents, James and Ollie Banks, his three brothers, George Arthur, Bobbie Lee and Essex, his son Arnesta Davis, and one great granddaughter, Gabrielle Banks. He leaves to cherish his memories five children: James Lawrence (Sonya), Igitha Diaz-Ramirez, Donald (Dorothy), Patricia Small (Jessie), Marvin (Jackie); six siblings: Walter (Betty), Henry (Rose), Lonnie (Katrina), Gladys Broady, Milton, Ollie Lois Thompson, Dan, and Kathryn Walker; thirteen grandchildren, fourteen great grand children, one great, great grandson, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
