Jake Dee Guarino

He was born on March 31, 1945 in Houston, Texas to Jake and Louise Guarino, who have preceded him in death along with brother Jim and sister Angel Guarino. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Carolyn Niederhofer Guarino. He is also survived by his daughters Staci and husband Bruce Raabe, and Amy and husband Cody Baker; grandchildren Nicole and husband Chris Bolton, Danielle Moffett, Zachary Raabe, Alex Baker and Shelby Baker; greatgrandchildren Peyton Owens, Kamryn Owens, Jace Bolton and Austin Bolton; nephews Brett Smith, Jim Guarino and Jake and wife Jill Guarino; nieces Noel Smith and Jaime and wife Cheryl McCallum; along with a large and loving extended family.

Jake graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1963, and from 1966-1970 proudly served in the United States Air Force. He later graduated from the University of Houston. He began working at Empire Truck Lines shortly thereafter, where he retired in 2011.

As an avid outdoorsman, Jake loved spending time with his family and friends fishing at their home in Galveston or hunting with his best dog Megan.

A memorial service will be held on Friday December 20th at 1:00pm at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, TX 77060.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Cancer Society in memory of Jake Guarino.
