Jacques Jack Werny Amschwand

Jacques is survived by his two daughters, Michelle and Jane, brother-in-law, Jim, sisters-in-law, Beverly and Donna, sons-in-law, Roy, Kyle and James, daughter-in-law, Missy, and grandchildren, Jack, Sofia, MaryAnna and Ava. Jacques was a loving father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend to all. He had a remarkable gift for endearing himself to all those who met him.

Jacques was born in Sarnen, Switzerland. At the age of twenty-one, he moved to Toronto, Canada where he met the love of his life, Kathryn Amschwand. They were married until her passing from a rare cancer, sarcoma, in 1995. No doubt he has been greeted into heaven by his beautiful wife, Kathryn, and his dear son, Tom, who passed away in 2001 from the same disease that took his wife.

Jacques worked as an architect all of his professional life. He loved sports, traveling, collecting art and spending time with friends and family.

Funeral services will be held at St. Anne Catholic Community on August 15, 2016 at 10:00 am with a reception to follow at Redbud Gallery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Amschwand Sarcoma Cancer Foundation, 2726 Bissonnet St., Ste. 240-314, Houston, TX, 77005, or at www.sarcomacancer.org. Private family burial will be held at a later time.
