On Saturday, August 8th, 2020, at approximately 6:15 pm, there was a celebration in the air with a personal trumpet call for Jacqueline Marie Richardson. She lived a fun filled, mischievous, loving, and caring life for 82 years with a deep passion for a close never ending relationship with God, no matter the circumstances. There were times when she admitted to being frustrated, but still knew everything was within his plan.
She was born on September 19, 1937 to Lester and Marie Green in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She graduated from Cape Central High School in 1955, married Phillip Michael Richardson on June 2nd 1957. After having three children, she began her medical career as a wards clerk at Southeast Hospital. She moved on to surgical scrub technician and proceeded with the encouragement and sponsorship from her superiors and doctors, she then attended the nursing program at Southeast State Missouri University. She worked as OR Nurse and moved up to director of surgery for the next 35 years at various hospitals between Cape Girardeau and Houston, retiring in 2006.
She took classes on-line and graduated with a Masters Degree from Berean University. This was completed while still working, being a mother and devoted wife. She graduated with honors and received a life time achievement award.
After retiring, her love and passion for people drove her to become a chaplain with St. Luke’s Hospital in the Woodlands, as well as visiting with cancer patients at the connecting M.D. Anderson. Being Chaplain was not enough, there was still a nagging drive to do more. She then continued her studies and became an ordained minister through the Assemblies of God.
