Jackie Adams, age 87, passed away on February 15, 2018 in Austin, Texas. Jackie was born October 1, 1930 in Sioux City, Iowa to Frank and Marguerite Hood Johnson. She had three sisters and one brother; Vivian Ouvellette (deceased), Gary Johnson (deceased), Janice Shook and Pat Hughes. Her surviving in-laws are Beverly Adams, Ellen Adams and Gerald Adams and numerous nieces and nephews. Jackie married Jacque Adams in 1951 and they were married for 52 years until Jacque’s death in 2002. She is survived by her children Bruce Alan Adams (Austin, Texas), Terry Diane Adams Winkler (Austin, Texas), Nancy Carole Adams Crow and husband Greg (Missouri City, Texas) and Brian Douglas Adams and wife Suzanne (Sugar Land, Texas), six grandchildren, Corey Crow and wife Tessie (Austin, Texas) along with great granddaughter Annie Adams Crow, Austin Adams and wife Torchy (Austin, Texas), Travis Crow and wife Kailey (Austin, Texas), Ryan Adams (Chicago, Illinois), Melissa Mariacher (Austin, Texas) and Shane Adams (New York, New York).
Jacque and Jackie started out in Iowa and spent several years in Birmingham, Alabama before moving to Houston where they spent many years before moving to Austin in 1985.
Jackie was a supporting and loving wife, a marvelous mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law and friend to many.
Jackie was a keeper of life-long friendships and loved to catch up with them through frequent phone calls. She went to the Austin Senior Center often and loved her time with friends she made there.
Jackies’s grandkids were her delight. She rejoiced in each one’s birth and every accomplishment they made, big or small. She recently got to meet her first great grandchild, Annie.
Jackie was a true lady who always did the right thing, was polite to everyone, and treated others well. She will be truly missed.
