

Jackie Eugene Cogbill, age 94, a resident of Spring, Texas, entered his heavenly home on June 23, 2023. He was born October 9, 1928 in Hockerville, Oklahoma to Jack Steven Cogbill and Edith Hughes Cogbill.
He graduated from Webb City High School in 1947, and married Eugenia Ruth Craig, his high school sweetheart, on July 20, 1947.
They soon moved to Houston and started their family. He was a devoted husband to his wife for 73 years before her passing, and he instilled in his children the importance of faith, family and compassion.
Jackie valued the importance of hard work and the sense of a strong community. He partnered in a trucking business with his father, Jack Cogbill & Son, and later Jack Cogbill, Inc. He was also a past president for the Texas Association of Sand and Gravel Haulers and worked with legislative committees to draft regulations concerning the hauling industry.
Jackie's faith was an integral part of his life. He and Eugenia were active members of Rose Garden United Methodist Church before moving to Jersey Village and becoming faithful members of Bear Creek United Methodist Church.
Beyond his family and church, Jackie was known for his gentle demeanor, willingness to lend a helping hand, and his gratitude for his many blessings.
Jackie is survived by his son, Michael Eugene Cogbill and wife Carolyn of Allen, Texas, and daughter, Susan Cogbill Cossey and husband Jerry of Pinehurst, Texas. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his later years.
He is preceded in death by his precious wife of 73 years Eugenia, his parents Jack and Edith, sister Sally Jean Cogbill Cox, son James Stephen Cogbill, grandson James Craig Cossey, and great-grandson Jaxon Ray Lemerand.

A memorial service for Jackie will be held Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, TX 77039, followed by an inurnment.
