J L Pennington, born January 5, 1925 passed away August 27, 2011. He will be greatly missed by his wife Glenna Pennington; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Ron Seymour; son James Pennington; granddaughter, April Pennington and Fiancé Steven Thomas; grandson, Joshual Kibby and girlfriend Mamie Barnes; grandsons, Jason Pennington and Christopher Seymour; sister and brother-in-law, Bettie and Edward Clark; favorite niece and her husband Janet and Kirk Holt; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, August 29, 2011 at Brookside Funeral Home. JL served in the United States Navy from July 16, 1943 thru April 6, 1946. He was employed with the Iron Worker Local Union #84 from 1943-1986. JL was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid football fan but especially enjoyed supporting AISD and had a special interest in MacArthur High School’s football team. He taught his loyalty to his children and proved what he taught in all his actions. His fun spirited personality will missed by many.
