On Wednesday, October 18, 2023, Isaac Nathaniel Stewart III of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully while his beloved wife Christine Stewart and his two loving daughter’s Alyshea Janeen and Kheri D’Anna Stewart held him in their arms, singing to him and telling him how much they loved him as he transitioned into the presence of the Lord.
Born December 29, 1962 to Margie Robertson-Stewart and Isaac Stewart Jr., Isaac Nathaniel Stewart III, nicknamed “Red boy”, was brought into a large family and surrounded with lots of love from them. To this union was born his older twin siblings, Cynthia Gale Stewart and Christopher Dale Stewart. “Red boy” inherited loving siblings from their dad; Cynthia Gale Stewart, Christopher Dale Stewart, Raulot Lockett, Demetra Byrd, Harlane Y. Lockett, Rodney Walker, Anthony Marshall, and Elisabeth Smith.
At the age of four, James McQueen “Daddy” joined their mother in matrimony and added two inherited siblings, James Kerry Kizzie and Demple Lois Kizzie to the family. With the welcome addition of his “baby sister” Shaundalyn Dawn McQueen from their union, Isaac always embraced opportunities to demonstrate his unwavering love for his brothers and sisters. Isaac always fondly reminisced about the love, laughter, and many good memories of growing up surrounded with all the love of his aunts, uncles, cousins, and entire family.
“Red boy “was a fun, spirited person who excelled at many things and had many passions. A car enthusiast who under the guidance and tutelage of “Daddy James”, honed his mechanic skills while working at McQueen’s Texaco Gas Station along with his stepbrother Kerry. Isaac loved working on cars, cooking, barbecuing, sports and engaging in spirited debates about different topics. Those were just a few of the things he enjoyed doing throughout his life.
Becoming an accomplished fisherman, Isaac was proud of the large fish he caught during one of his recent fishing expeditions. While at B.C. Elmore Middle School, he played the alto saxophone in band while playing on the football team. In junior high, Isaac’s athleticism became apparent when he helped his team at B.C. Elmore Middle School not only go undefeated the whole 7th grade but no one scored on them the whole season. As a fullback, Isaac’s football athleticism continued while playing football for the Mighty Jaguar’s at his high school alma mater, “The Brook” Forest Brook High School, Class of 1981. Many still remember and talk about how #33, ran for 126 yards during a game that ended in a 17-0 victory against Sterling High School. Classmates that Isaac went to school with and neighborhood friendships were relationships that Isaac was loyal to and have lasted during his entire life. After high school, Isaac graduated with a degree in drafting and was a master drafter.
Isaac relocated to California where he met and married the love of his life, Christine Busch. He loved to tell their love story of how he saw her and asked God for her. Building a life with Christine included having two cherished daughters, Alyshea Janeen, and Kheri D’Anna Stewart who brought him much joy. Isaac also loved and cherished his mother-in-law Patricia Busch and father-in-law “Dad” Howard Busch Sr. and built a strong bond with Christine’s brother Howard J. Busch Jr. (Andrea Busch) and sister, Janice Busch.
Isaac was hardworking and had a strong work ethic. His numerous skills allowed him to have a successful career in environmental work, various business ventures and as a skilled machine operator.
His ability to do mechanical work on cars, work on plumbing, electrical and anything in between, gave him the reputation that he could fix almost anything.
Isaac’s charm, wit, humor, deep love and protective covering over his family and friends has impacted many lives and will leave a deep void. His desire to extend a helping hand to someone in need was a demonstration of his kind, generous and loving heart. Having accepted Jesus into his life while being raised and ministered to under the guidance of Rev. Triem at Pinecrest Presbyterian Church, Isaac professed and demonstrated his faith during his life. Though we will miss him greatly we rest in peace knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
