Isaac (Ike) Sharp, age 92, passed away Thursday, December 09, 2010. Originally from Henryetta, Oklahoma, he spent the last 49 years in Houston. Ike began his mechanical engineering career for Boeing in Tulsa, Oklahoma during World War II. After the war, he worked for various engineering firms there until 1961, when he and his wife Agnes moved to Houston for Texaco. He enjoyed assignments in Alaska, Canada, and elsewhere until his retirement from Litwin Engineering in 1992.
He was a faithful member of Sharpstown Baptist Church, and enjoyed singing in the choir as well as in the West University Baptist Church “Prime Time Singers”. He was especially proud of being a member of The Good Times Brass Band, playing alto saxophone.
Ike is survived by his son Gerald and wife Sharon; grandson James and great granddaughter Marissa; grandson John and wife Christina, and great grandsons Isaac and Connor. He leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Pall bearers will be Gerald Sharp, James Sharp, John Sharp, Michael LeLaurin, Matt LeLaurin and Timothy LeLaurin.
Funeral services will be held at Sharpstown Baptist Church on Monday, December 13, 2010 at 1 pm. A private family graveside service will follow at Forest Park Westheimer.
