Irma Ramirez-Bustos was born, a Christmas Gift, to Agustin Ramirez and Delia Ramirez-Bustos on December 24, 1977 in Cuernavaca Morelos, Mexico. Her family moved to Texas in 1978, where Irma built her life and remained until her death. Irma was an inquisitive child, with a twinkle of mischief in her eye centered by a sweet soul; content to have been blessed with the gift of a large and loving family.
Irma met her best friend, husband and soul mate, Oscar Manzanarez, on April 9th, 1995. Throughout their marriage they were blessed with three sons; Christopher, Oscar Jr. and Isaac, and together they built a life based on Faith, Family, and Love for one another. Oscar was Irma’s King and she his Queen. They upheld a strict schedule of “date nights” to ensure they never forgot that their union was to be held in high regard above all else. When Oscar’s work schedule fluctuated, Irma made sure she was up early to make his coffee and pack his lunch, and Oscar made sure his Queen was content at home as well. Irma’s deep love and pride for her sons was evident in everything she did. The wellbeing of her children was first and foremost in her heart and seeing them thrive brought her life infinite happiness.
Irma’s loving heart displayed it’s perfection in many ways: Love of Family, a passion for cooking, and a strong work ethic, being just a few. Irma worked for 25+ years in the dental field and was very proud of her accomplishments in this arena. She adored her work family, and lovingly called her Team members her “kids”. She was known to bring home cooked meals for the entire office, simply on a whim.
Her love of family and cooking led her to become known as the “Queen of the Crawfish Boil”, as this embodied both her passion for family gatherings and good food. She created her own “special” blend of seasoning mix and believed any celebration was the perfect occasion for crawfish! Many, many weekends were spent on the Manzanarez back patio peeling crawfish and drinking cold beer with family.
Whenever possible, Irma delighted in shared family vacations; sisters, brothers, children, all gathered. Beach vacations were a favorite, as water soothed her. These were Irma’s best life moments and she looked forward to every next venture with the family she loved.
We all mourn the loss of a dear wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend. How lucky we are to have loved and been loved by someone, so much, that it’s unbearable to say goodbye.
Irma, lovingly known as Nirmas by her brothers, Iram by a select few, and Irmita by many, is preceded in death by her mother Delia Ramirez-Bustos and beloved firstborn son, Christopher Manzanarez. She is survived by her husband Oscar Manzanarez, sons Oscarito, and Isaac, Her siblings; sister Pilar and husband Frank Rojas; brother Adam and wife Blanca; brother Andres Ramirez and wife Diana Guardiola, and her nieces and nephews: Alex, Itati, Franky, Ari, Alaina, Adan Jr., Maximus, Omari, and great niece, Kaylani.
