Irene Martinez

Irene Martinez, age 66, passed away on May 5th, 2023, in Lubbock, Texas after her battle with kidney disease. She was born on April 22nd, 1957, in Houston, Texas. Irene was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed.

Irene devoted many years of her life as an Administrative Assistant for Sakowitz Furs before receiving certification in Medical Billing & Coding. Her hard work and dedication were admired by all who knew her.

Irene was a devout Catholic and found comfort in her faith. She attended Catholic School as a young child and her faith was a significant part of her life.

In her free time, Irene loved spending time with her grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with them, and her love for them knew no bounds. Irene is survived by her husband, Luis Martinez, her son, Alfred Anthony Machuca, her daughter, Christina Valdez, her sister, Irene Alegria, and her brothers, David Martinez and Guillermo Alegria.

A ceremony will be held for Irene at Funerio Del Angel Crespo and burial service in Sugar Land, TX. May she rest in peace, and her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
