Irene Campos, 85, born Dec. 1933 in Houston, TX passed away July 21, at 6:03 pm at Harbour Hospice. She is preceded in death by her parents, Cruz and Natalia Fonseca, sisters, Siveria Ontiveros, Amalia Trevino, Julia Jaramillo, brothers, Luis Fonseca and Victor Fonseca. Irene is survived by her sons, Johnny Campos and his wife Rose Mary, Joe Fonseca and his wife Frances, her sister Maura Mattizza, as well as, numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. She did not always have it easy, but she worked hard to be sure her sons had a better life. Irene started working as a machinist at Texco Trim, which later became Sandelius in 1973 until she retired at 64. All who knew and loved Irene knew she had a huge, loving and caring heart. She always put her families’ needs before her own. She loved sweets, her Ranch sunflower seeds and her popcorn. It was never too late or she was never too full to eat any of these.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered “Come to Me.” With tears in our eyes we watched you and saw you pass away and although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
Visitation will be Wed., July 24th from 5:00-9:00 pm at Forest Park Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel. Interment will be on Thurs., July 25th at 2:00 at Forest Park Cemetery.
