So my last  post was the last day your son could work.  Who knew?  We never expected this to happen in our lives.  Now we are self quarantined trying to keep him out of hospital during the pandemic.  Extra prayers from Heaven help.   
I’m glad those loved ones in Heaven are not suffering  and are restored.  My faith tells me that we too, will be there one day.  Miss you sweet ILA.  

Well another year has passed without you.  I’ve picked up your coffee habit and think of the days at the kitchen table just hanging out visiting.  I hope you’re looking down on earth and enjoying the holiday lights and carols.  Love you.

Here it is Christmas time!  I know it was a tough time for you, but I loved it when you came over to enjoy our tree.  It was great to come sit around the kitchen table to have coffee and open presents.  Now you have the greatest gift of all....you are in the Lords house celebrating the birth of our savior, Jesus.   You earned this eternal reward.... it wasn't an easy earth life for you sweet Ila.  . Love you always.

I saw your dentist today and he asked how is sweet Ila Mae?   He thought so much of you.  As we all do.  You're in our hearts.  I know your memory is restored and you are happy.  I'm sorry your last years were not as we planned.  I wish I could have helped you in the way you deserved. ❤

Well, we are starting a new year!  Let's hope it will be a year of new beginnings and leaving the past behind us.  Life is getting shorter, no time for all the stresses.  Thinking of you, and having a cup of coffee.

Today would have been your 65th wedding anniversary as your son turns 64.  :)

Thanksgiving day, a nice day with your son and granddaughter.  All the traditional foods, good company and lots of fun.  Thankful I had you in my life.  We sure could have used those yummy yeast rolls.  Mmmmm I can just smell them!

Winter is arriving.  It makes me want to make a pot of your famous red beans!  Missing you beautiful lady, and sad for your suffering during your last years.

We should be sitting outside with a cup if coffee!  Fall has fell.  :)

Tell all the souls from 9/11 that we remember.  Pray for peace on earth.

I dreamed of you last night.  It was like old times, except you were taking care of Grandpa Cox and Grandpa French.  They were very old men, reading their newspapers at the kitchen table.  You were getting coffee for them.  Grandpa French was talking about his farming days.  I bet y'all are having coffee and chats in Heaven.

I bought some kolanchoe plants to grow in your memory.  I know how you loved your flowers!  Your little memorial garden will move with us when we return to our home.  We will treasure you always.

We will see you again, and it will be beautiful.  I believe this earth is our purgatory.  Each day we are one heartbeat closer.  I treasure my times with you, each one is joyous.  I am happy knowing that you are not suffering anymore.  Please watch over your son as he goes through this rough time.

When Ila got her pacemaker, she was worried about her battery loosing its power.  Dr. G. told her that she had a 99 year battery.  She said, "oh my....what happens if I don't need it that long? ".  Taking Ila for her appointments was always a joy, and we always had lots of laughs.

She had such a great sense of humor, a little stray kitty came along, and of course Ila fed it, so it became a pet.  It was in the day of Mao Tse Tung's terrible reign.  So after hearing his name on the news...she named the kitty......."Mousey Tongue".   So appropriate cause the kitty loved hunting mice!

George...my dear sweet brother, my heart aches for you but not for your mom. God puts his angels on earth to give love and cherish life.  Your mother was one of those angels. The love your mom gave to her family, our family and the love of life she gave to everyone is beyond words. She will be missed dearly, but know that she has returned to her home as an angel and taken her rightful place in heaven.  When you need strength, talk to her.  Mothers always have a way of helping their children and I believe in my heart that she will be with you to guide you, provide love and give you the strength you need to overcome everything. You may not be able to see her but you will know she is with you and you will feel her presence.  She has not left you, she will be with you always. All my love to you!!!

Thank you all for helping us to cherish her memory.  She was indeed a great lady.  She is smiling from Heaven.  Our friends are great comfort, and the kind words mean so much.  May God bless you all.  We will keep this book live so you can continue to honor her with sweet stories and memories.

Know that she will always be with, in your heart and with you in spirit.

George, please accept my deepest sympathies on the loss of your mother. I was so sorry to hear of her passing.  I can imagine how difficult it is for you right now having recently gone through a similar situation and losing my own mother. 

I will always have many wonderful memories of your mother.  As best friends' growing up together, your mom was always so warm and welcoming, she always had a big smile on her face.  She was in fact like a second mom to me and many of your friends, and because of that she will be dearly missed by those of us who knew her.
  
George you did a really good of caring for your mom during her illness.  What you did for her was very special and it showed how much you loved her.  I know that you mom loved you and really appreciated everything you did for her.  It will be very difficult for a while, but please try to take comfort in knowing your mom is no longer suffering and has re-united with you father in God's heavenly kingdom.
  
Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.

George, Bubba and the rest of the family, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of mom. For many years your entire family took me in and treated me as one of your own. You all were closer to me than my own family and it hurts to know Ila Mae passed...but know she is in a better place. I hope that thought and the memories of her, help you though this troubled time. I will forever remember Ila as the women who could make me laugh with just one little quip thrown into conversation. I see her kindness and wonderful sense of humor reflected in her son George, and I intrinsically believe that she had to be a wonderful women to raise a son like that. While she will be greatly missed, it brings me comfort to know that she is no longer in battle with her own mind; she is finally at peace. My thoughts and condolences are with George during this difficult time. Know that she was loved, and you are loved. I leave you with probably my favorite quote from her-

"Boy, it looks like a hurricane passed through here!"-Ila Mae Cox, said after hurricane Ike...a hurricane she couldn't quite recall.

My heart goes out to you George during this difficult time. You were so very close to your mom. Ya'll shared so many wonderful memories together and we all shared many laughs and good times together. Ila made me feel like her very own daughter and I loved her as though she were my Mom; I will miss her dearly. You were there for her when your Dad passed and you were there for her throughout her entire illness with Alzheimer's.  George, I can't even begin to tell you what an amazing son you have been, you made your mom so proud and she loved you so much. You carried her through the difficult times with laughter that you both shared so frequently.  Know now, she is in a better place without illness, without pain. She will always live within your heart and you will always have beautiful memories of her. Take comfort in knowing she is with our Lord and at peace.  Remember I am your dearest friend and I will always be here for you.
