He spent his childhood years in Nigeria, where he completed his primary and secondary school education. He started his college education at the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ile-Ife but later transferred to the University of Houston-Downtown (UH-D) after his parents relocated to the U.S in the year 2000. He graduated UH-D with a degree in Business Administration - Accounting and worked for various accounting and tax firms afterwards developing a passion for tax-filing. He was not fulfilled in that role however, and decided to change careers. He went on to obtain his Masters degree in Information Technology at the University of Virginia subsequently accepting a position as an IT Consultant and Software Release Manager in Virginia, finding his professional niche. He worked in this role for various companies in various states including Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Seattle, Washington, California and finally settled in Austin, Texas in 2018 where he worked for Apple. Abed, as he was professionally called, was very happy to be a part of the team there, managing and running software releases which he did quite passionately.
Ifeanyi was the life of the party. He was quite confident, had a big personality and an even bigger sense of humor. He loved to lighten the mood in any room he was in. He was also quite eloquent and a wordsmith. We often teased him that he got into the wrong profession due to his avid love for grammar; he charmed a lot of people that way. Ifeanyi was very caring, especially about his family. He was quite security conscious and went out of his way to ensure his family was safe. He was very proud of “his girls” - (wife and 2 daughters) and was utterly devoted to them. He led by example while raising his children, even learning to skate just to encourage his daughter during her own skating lessons .
Ifeanyi is survived by his wife Ndali and their 2 children, Audrey- Ndidi and Amery- Ifeyinwa; his parents, sisters as well as extended family, friends, mentors and co-workers he touched during his life, who loved him dearly and molded him into the man he was. He will be dearly missed.
