Ida Lee Brown

Ida Lee Brown, was born on May 12, 1941, in Old Washington County, Texas, to the proud parents of McKinley Shepard Sr., and Lena Callie Shepard. At a very early age they moved to Houston, TX., where she attended school. She confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Reed of , Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She attended Southern Bible College, Franklin Beauty School, Houston Community College and Real Estate School. On September 14, 1962 she married Jacob Brown, Jr. and to that union Ida Brown-Dorsey and Johnell B. Brown were born, both of Houston, Texas. They fellowshipped with Bible Way Church of Holiness under Bishop Parker. Later uniting with Ebenezer House of Prayer under Pastor Samuel H. Mingo until her death. She was the president of the Pastor's Aide, she was a mighty prayer warrior for the church, musician for the youth choir, she spoke on many programs. She mentored and lead many to Christ. She touched many with a kind word and her spirit. Ida Lee Brown departed this early life on Saturday, July 20, 2013. For me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21). She is preceded in death by her father McKinley Shepard Sr., her mother, Lena Callie Shepard, and her brother, McKinley Shepard, Jr. She leaves her love and memories, to her husband Reverend Jacob Brown, Jr., one daughter, Ida Brown Dorsey (Chester), one son, Johnell Bernard Brown (Samantha), two brothers Robert L. Shepard (Ernestine), D'shaun Shepard; two sisters, Alice Cooksey (Nathan,) and D'Juana Shepard. Grand children: LaTorsha Sample (Cleo), April Brown, Brandon Brown, Jonecia Brown, Kayla Brown, Gabrielle Griffin, Tonya Goree(Kelton), Hester William (Tony), Tracey Dorsey, Barbara Dorsey, and Reginyl Dorsey and Aaron Hildreth. Great- Grandchildren: Jacob Dorsey, Trameceia Sample, Cleo Sample(3rd), Essance Sample, and Jaylon Sample. God daughters: Alfred Hildreth(Aaron), Yolanda Godfrey, Tony Godfrey, Joann Lott(Alvin), Marves Pigue( Brother Pigue), A host of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
