Ian was born in Austin, Texas, and lived most of his life in Houston, graduating from Spring Woods High School in 2002. In 2007, Ian joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Pendleton, California. He served in Afghanistan, receiving numerous commendations. Ian qualified for and was accepted into the Marine Special Operations Command and was scheduled to start his training this November.
Ian is survived by his wife, Toni Wiseman; son, Aidan Burke; parents, Ken and Rebecca Wiseman; brother, Sean and sisters, Kristen and McKenna; grandmother, Olga Poulos; uncle, George Poulos; aunts, Carole Wiseman and Anastasia Poulos Logan.
Family and friends will gather at a visitation in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors in Houston, on Tuesday, October 9th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
A funeral service celebrating Sgt. Wiseman's life will take place in the chapel of Houston's First Baptist Church, 7401 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024, (713) 681-8000, on Wednesday, October 10th at 10:00 a.m.
Graveside services with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard will conclude at Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, Texas 77038, (281) 447-8686.
