Ian Wiseman was one of the best marines I've ever had the privilege of serving with both in combat and in garrison. He was a squad-mate mentor and always a friend,above all i will miss you

Ian was one of my closest friends. I think about him everyday. You raised a great son, I loved him very much. I send my prayers to your family.

To the Wisemans, I give you my condolences.  You raised a very well rounded son.  He was our neighbor and he was loved by all of us, he was fixing one of his bicycles for my son, and that was very sweet.  We miss him dearly and I know I can't even imagine what you are going through.  I hope God can guide you through this journey.  I just wanted you to know he made an impact on our lives, and was very much respected.  May he rest in peace, and may you all find peace in life.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I myself did not know Ian personally I knew of him from my son and his 2/4 Echo brothers.  They all used the words mentor, friend, protector and respected leader.  My son told me a story of a night he thought he might die in Afghanistan and his body was going into hypothermia.  Ian was there and took care of him and my son feels saved his life.  He will be missed and we will keep your family in our prayers.  I know the loss will never go away so I just pray God's peace will fill the void and each day you will remember something special about Ian.

My prayers go out to Ian's entire family for this terrible loss. Ian was a fine young man and put himself in considerable harm's way in service to this country. Many thanks to him for that and the sacrifice of his family on behalf of all of us. I still see his 12-year old face in my mind's eye, all full of life and mischief along with his best friend, Andy Cullather--my nephew. May God's healing grace wash over you all.

I knew Ian as he was good friend of my nephew Tony. As a fellow Marine, I am deeply sorry to see I an die. He was a nice kid when I knew him. I am quite sure he was both a good husband and father. God Bless you Marine and thank you for your service to this great country.

My family and I wish we had the words to truly express our sadness and sorrow for your loss. As a parent of a son in the 2/4 family, I know your son's dedication to the Corps and to those under his command. They will never forget him or the skills, abilities, or integrity he freely gave and taught his men. He helped to make them the men that they are today. For that, we say "thank you." We can't begin to express our appreciation for your son's service and commitment.

My father and brother were in the Navy. Dad was an avid collector of hymnals. He passed away several years ago from cancer but this past Christmas, my mother gave me a very special Christmas present. It was an Army-Navy chapel hymnal from 1942 that belonged to my Dad. I would like to share with you a prayer from that hymnal.
