Hudson Merchant Reed, died June 20th, 2021. He was born February 3rd 1954 in Houston, Texas, being the third child of Mack Gray Reed & Joyce Anna Ledbetter Reed. He attended Lamar High School in Houston and later graduated from The University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He worked for Wilson Industries as a salesman out of college, and maintained a career as a salesman until his retirement.
He was a resident of Houston. Hudson enjoyed computers and technology and was often tinkering with his gadgets. He was active in the RoundTop Antiques Fair and pursued a passion for antiques. He found joy in the outdoors and built his own business: Round Top Cottages where he rented the two houses he had built at his family ranch in Washington County, Texas. He spent most of his later days at his ranch. He loved his grandchildren and spent time with them during holidays.
Hudson is survived by his son Hunter Ledbetter Reed, and his wife Amy Morgan Reed, and their three children: Henry Foster Reed, Maxwell Morgan Reed, & Oliver Gray Reed. He is also survived by his older sister Susan Gleye, older brother Bruce Reed, and younger sister Catherine Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Family and friends will be received Saturday, July 10th at Grace United Methodist Church, 1245 Heights Blvd where a service will be held at 10 am. He will be memorialized at his ranch where his ashes will be spread.
